VIT University established under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, and was founded in 1984 as a self-financing institution called the Vellore Engineering College.

As you want here I am telling VIT University (VIT), Vellore GPA calculation method, at there while calculating CGPA ,VIT considers two parameters i.e. corresponding credits assigned to and grades obtained in particular subjects. Now, grades are equivalent to numeric values as follows:

S-10, A-9, B-8, C-7 ,D-6, E-5, F-0

For example: Subjects mentioned in your grade sheet, have assigned credits and obtained grades as follows :

Physics for Engineers -A (Credits -3)

French Language -A (Credits -2)

C Programming- A (Credits -4)

Multi-variable-B (Credits -3)

Environmental Science -C (Credits -3)

Then your CGPA = (9*3)+(9*2)+(9*4)+(8*3)+(7*3)/(3+2+4+3+3)

=126/15

=8.4
