GMAT stands for the Graduate Management Admission Test. The exam is computer-based online test conducted throughout the year across various centers worldwide. The GMAT scores are used for admission to over 5,000 management programs all over the globe. The GMAT Test is the standardized test for the candidates who want to pursue their further studies, in the fields of business and management, in foreign lands like doing MBA or PhD in Business Management from a management school in US, Canada or Europe. The test helps the institutions in accessing the level of knowledge of the candidates. The GMAT conducting body is the Graduate Management Admission Committee (GMAC). Eligibility criteria: Everyone is eligible for appearing in the GMAT exam as there is no minimum qualification specified. The score is valid for 5 years, but it is better if it is not more than 2 years old. Exam pattern: The GMAT exam has three parts- Quantitative Section (37 multiple-choice questions), Analytical Writing Assessment Section (2 essays) and the Verbal Section (41 multiple-choice questions). Syllabus: The GMAT exam consists of questions based on applied arithmetic, basic geometry, elementary algebra, data sufficiency, sentence correction, critical reasoning, reading comprehension, problem solving and writing skills. |
