You can opt for Permanent Commission and continue to serve in the Navy for your lifetime. 2. You can try for a job in the industry. Your job prospects will depend on the type of work experience in the navy and any additional qualifications (like MBA etc). 4. You can try for lateral entry government jobs or try to enter civil services by appearing for UPSC exams. a person can join Merchant Navy after retirement from Indian Navy... You can join as Marine Engineer/Electrical Officer in Merchant Navy provided you have done adequate sea service in Indian Navy and concomitantly qualified required DG Shipping COCs.
