Welfare Act, 2011

UNIT 2 – WILD LIFE PROTECTION ACT, 1972 18Hrs.
Evolution and Development of the concept of Wildlife Protection in India: Object & scope of the Act – Definition of
wildlife – Sec 2(37) – Authorities and Wild life advisory board: members and their duties – Hunting of Wild Animals –
Sanctuaries – National Park and Central Zoo Authority – Trade or Commerce in Wild Animals – Preventions and Detection of

On completion of the course the student will be able to
CO1: Students were able to understand the nature of protection available to wildlife in general.
