Re: barc waste management division

Yes the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre has a Waste Management Division. Also the Waste Management Division has various divisions are:

(Associate Director)
Waste Management Division
Process Development Division
Technology Development Division
Fuel Reprocessing Division

The BARC is come a long way since it first began reprocessing of spent fuel in the year 1964 at Trombay.

The recycling and optimal utilisation of uranium is essential to meet our current and future energy security needs.

Reprocessing of spent fuel followed by separation of minor actinides will also ensure reduction of radiotoxicity of radioactive waste and the need for long term isolation from the geosphere.

Research and development areas:
Research Projects
Critical Facility
AHWR
Thorium Fuel Cycle
Advanced Reactor Technologies & Nuclear Power
Electronics Instrumentation & Computers
