It was named after the ruler Rani Durgavati. It is the primary college of this city and has been reviewed as B++ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). History The college was constituted and set up on 12 June 1956 under the Jabalpur University Act, 1956 (Act No. 22 of 1956) with regional locale over Jabalpur income region. It moved to its present area at Saraswati Vihar, Pachpedi, Jabalpur in 1961. The college was renamed Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya on 7 June 1983 by Act No. 23 of 1983 to respect the outstanding valorous Gond Queen of Garha Mandla. Campus The college grounds is spread more than 99.63 sections of land (403,200 m2) of picturesque magnificence and condition inviting environment. It suits an Administrative Block, Art Faculty building, Teaching and Research structures of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Bio-Science, System Science and Physical training offices. It has a Central Library, Computer Center, USIC, University Institute of Management, University Law Department and different offices like one young men's and one young ladies' lodgings, University Health Center, University Guest House, Canteen and private quarters. Different offices like mail station, bank and printing press are on the grounds. It is, hence, conceivable to state that the college grounds is a city inside the city of Jabalpur.
