Now, admission in all state-level and private medical colleges will be done on the basis of NEET results only. NEET is the single entrance test conducted for admissions to approximately 52,305 MBBS and BDS seats in India. NEET 2017 will be conducted by CBSE in a pen and paper based mode on May 7, 2017. NEET Eligibility Criteria Candidates must have appeared/qualified Class 12th exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology (PCB), Mathematics or any other elective subject with English Candidates belonging to General category must have secured at least 50% marks in PCB. However, SC/ST/OBC candidates have to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in PCB Candidates who have passed the B.Sc examination of an Indian University with not less than 2 of these subjects-Physics, Chemistry, Biology) Botany and Zoology)/Biotechnology Candidate must be an Indian National, Overseas Citizen of India, Non Resident Indian, Foreign National and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) Candidates must be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission The age limit for General Category candidates is 25 years The age limit for SC/ST/OBC candidates is 30 years (a relaxation for 5 years is given). NEET Exam Pattern NEET 2017 will be held in a pen and paper based mode on May 7, 2017. The question booklet will consist of 180 questions on Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology Exam mode Pen and Paper Exam duration 3 hours (180 minutes) Language English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya and Kannada Number of questions 180 multiple choice questions (MCQs) Distribution of questions 90 questions from Biology and 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry Marking Scheme- +4 for each correct response -1 for each incorrect response |
