| Vishal Kotkar | Re: Unishivaji Shivaji University, set up in 1962, is named after the Great Maratha Warrior and author of the Maratha domain Chhatrapati Shivaji. It was introduced on eighteenth November, 1962 by Dr. Radhakrishnan, the then President of India. One of the real targets behind establishment of this University was to take into account the provincial needs of South Maharashtra. The ward of the University is spread more than three areas viz. Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara. In 1962 the University began working with 34 associated schools and around 14000 understudies with 5 Post-graduate Departments on the grounds. Today the quantity of partnered schools has gone upto 280 and understudies quality upto 3,00,000 with 34 Postgraduate Departments on grounds. The University gives training in 10 noteworthy resources of Arts, Social Science, Science, Commerce, Education, Fine Arts, Law, Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Engineering and Technology.
