Having a Media Education foundation was emphatically mooted and the Faculty of Journalism and Communication was set up in the M. S. College of Baroda in 1992. It at first offered a one year post-graduate Bachelors in Journalism and Communication Program (BCJ), which five years after the fact, in 1997, was supplanted by a four semester Masters in Communication Studies (MCS) programme.The nomeclature of this program has been as of late changed to Master of Journalism and Mass Communciation (MJMC).
