The department has gained national recognition because of its hi-tech sports facilities and excellent achievements at the inter-versity, national and international level. It organizes special training camps and inter-college tournaments in about 60 to 65 men and women events and participates It also has an open air gymnasium for providing physical fitness training. Indoor gymnasium is likely to come up in a very short while. It offers nearly 50-55 NSO scholarship each year to promising players and maintains separate sports hostel to lodge nearly 200 players at a time. Achievements : Besides these national trophies, it has also won prestigious Osmania University Platinum Jubilee Trophy four times and remained third once for securing highest points in women sports and KRIDAMAHARISHI Trophy for best performance in men’s events.
