Set up in 1921 as Kashi Vidyapith and later renamed, it is regulated under the state lawmaking body of the legislature of Uttar Pradesh. The college has more than 350+ subsidiary universities spread more than six Districts(Varanasi,Chandauli, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Ballia). It is one of the biggest State Universities in Uttar Pradesh, with a huge number of understudies, both provincial and urban. It offers a scope of Professional and Academic courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Computing and Management. Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidypeeth has earned B+ status from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Foundation Babu Shiv Prasad Gupt and Bhagwan Das built up the college in Varanasi, on 10 February 1921, amid the non-collaboration development of the flexibility battle. Initially named Kashi Vidyapith, the college was renamed Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith in 1995. It was initiated by Mahatma Gandhi. Objectives To strive to enhance and propagate: The development of Indian civilization & culture based on spiritualism. Homogeneous intermingling of all the sections of Indian society. Coordination among different thoughts and cultures. The notion of independence and patriotism along with the feeling of brotherhood & the urge to serve mankind.
