The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination or WBJEE is a centralized state government-controlled test. The WBJEE, conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, gives admission to UG courses in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Medical, Dental and Pharmacy at various Universities and Colleges in the state of West Bengal.

General Eligibility Criteria of WBJEE
• Nationality: All candidates should be citizens of India.
• Age Criteria: The minimum age is 17 years. There is no upper limit for B. Tech programmes except for Marine Engineering where the upper age limit is 25 years.
• Academic Qualification: One should have qualified 10+2 (or equivalent) examination with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Computer Application as compulsory subjects with individual passing marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects mentioned above in regular class mode.
• One appearing in the qualifying exam is also eligible to apply.
• Marks Required: General category candidates should have secured an aggregate of 45% and reserved category candidates should have scored 40% in the above three subjects taken together. All candidates are required to have qualified English in 10+2 with at least 30% marks. The board of the qualifying examination must be recognized by Central and State government concerned.
• Domicile: Should be residents of West Bengal for 10 years consecutively OR the parents of the candidates should be permanent residents of West Bengal with a permanent residential address in the state.

WBJEE Exam Pattern
The exam pattern for WBJEE is given below in detail:
• Exam Mode: It will be held through offline mode (OMR Pattern).
• Total Marks: The whole question paper will consist of 200 marks.
• Type of Questions: It will consist of multiple choice questions.
• Answering Mode: One should use blue/black ball point pen for darkening the appropriate circle completely.
• Subjects: Question paper will comprise of three subjects: Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
• No. of Questions: Total 155 questions will be asked in the examination.
• Negative Marking: In category- I & category II, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. There is no negative marking in category-III.
