The IAS Exam conducted by UPSC is known as Civil Service Examination.

There will be 2 part of this Exam:
Preliminary Exam
Main Exam

Eligibility Criteria for Civil Service Exam:

Nationality:

Citizen of India, or
Subject of Nepal, or
Subject of Bhutan, or
Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India

Age Limit:
21 -32 Years

Educational Qualification:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor Degree in any discipline from recognized University.

Total Number of Attempts:
General: 06 Attempts
OBC: 09 Attempts
SC/ST: No Limit

Fee:
General and OBC: Rs. 100/-
SC/ST/ Women: No Fee

As per my information, Army person also can appear in Civil Service Exam.
