The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta was established as the first national institute for Post-Graduate studies and Research in Management by the Government of India in November 1961. The Indian Institutes of Management are one of the top B-Schools in the country that offer management education to candidates who crack CAT exam. It is mandatory for management aspirants to crack the CAT examination in order to get admission in the IIM. Candidates get admission on the basis of their marks scored in the CAT exam and IIM cut-off list. The Common Admission Test (CAT) is an online exam conducted for students seeking admission in Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in management at IIMs and other renowned Management Institutes of India.
