The Combined Engineering Services Exam is available for Mechanical students. The Recruitment Board of Indian Engineering Services is conducts an entrance exam in order to recruit candidates within the specialized Engineers cadre belonging to Mechanical stream.

The exam is divided into two Stages namely Stage I and Stage II.

Stage I has a total of 1000 marks and Stage II has a total of 200 marks. Stage I has further two sub parts namely Section I and Section II. Section I has objective based pattern and Section II consists of conventional questions. Stage II is a personality format test.

Scheme of Examination:

Paper-1 – 300 marks (3 Hours) – Technical Paper
Paper-II- 200 marks (2 Hours) – General Studies
Interview and records – 70 marks
Totally 570 marks.
