Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam M.Phil Admissions- Research for M.Phil Degree can be carried out on full-time or Part-time basis M.Phil programs- School of Sciences (1) Applied Mathematics (2) Applied Microbiology/Biochemistry (only PhD) (3) Biotechnology (4) Computer Science (5) Home Science 6) Pharmaceutical Sciences (only Ph.D.) (7) Sericulture/Botany/Zoology School of Engineering & Technology (SoET) (1) Engineering & Technology (only PhD) School of Social Sciences Humanities and Management (1) Business Management (2) Communication & Journalism (3) Education (4) English (5) Law (only Ph.D.) (6) Music (7) Physical Education (8) Social Work (9) Telugu Studies (10) Women’s Studies M.Phil. eligibility- Postgraduate degree of the concerned/ related subject of any recognized University, with at least a second class with a minimum of 55% of marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7 - point scale and 50% in the case of SC/ST/Differently abled candidates Important Dates Last Date for Receipt of filled-in Application: 2nd week of July 2018 Date of Examination: 2nd August 2018 at 10.30 am Selection Process Admissions into M.Phil Course are normally done once in every year through an entrance test (RESET) Admissions are made in the concerned departments of the University College, and are restricted to women candidates only Exam pattern- Entrance test will be of 2 ½ hours (two and half) duration with 50 objective type questions for 50 marks in Part-A Descriptive short essay type of questions (5 questions out of eight questions to be answered) of 10 marks each for 50 marks in Part-B. However, where ever it is relevant few questions will be from Research Methodology The question paper and medium of writing SPMVV RESET will be in English except for Telugu Studies The student should obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance test to be eligible and for SC /ST /Differently abled students the minimum shall be 45%; mere qualifying in entrance test alone does not guaranty a seat for admission Application fees- For general candidates DD for Rs.1800/- and for SC/ST/ Differently abled candidates Rs.1200/- towards registration fee drawn in favour of the Registrar, S.P.
