Madras University offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and research degree courses in diverse fields including Arts, Science, Commerce and Management.

University of Madras conducts separate admission processes for research programs viz. Master of Philosophy (M.Phil)and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D).

The degree can be obtained in Full Time, Part Time (Internal), and Part Time (External) mode.

M.Phil Eligibility:

You must possess a post-graduate degree in the relevant stream

M.Phil. (Ancient Indian History Culture & Archaeology) , M.Phil. (Development Economics) & M.Phil. (Economics)

For Full-Time M.Phil:

Candidates should have a Master's Degree in the above mentioned subjects with a minimum of 55% in the qualifying exam.

For Part-Time M.Phil:

Teachers working in University Departments.
Teachers working in Affiliated colleges whose qualifications are approved by the University
Teachers of Polytechnics approved by the Director of the Technical Education or teachers of Higher secondary and High schools approved either by State Board or Central Board of Secondary Education or Educational Instructors of IAF.
