Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of the institution introduced the teaching of Sunni and Shia Theology LIFE SCIENCES Faculty of Life Sciences has seven Departments. COMMERCE Faculty of Commerce has one Department SOCIAL SCIENCE In 1969, Faculty of Arts was bifurcated and Faculty of Social Science was created, with the Department of Economics, Education, History, Political Science, Sociology, Islamic Studies, West Asian Studies, Library & Information Science and Psychology attached to it. SCIENCE The Faculty system was introduced in January 1944 during the Vice Chancellorship of Dr. Zia-ud-din Ahmad (1941 to 1947).
