The Government of Karnataka launched Common Entrance Test Cell in the year 1994 for performing of Entrance Test and to influence the merits of the campaigners for admission to Professional Courses such as Medical, Dental, Indian Systems of Medicine & Homoeopathy, Engineering / Technology & Architecture courses. The Karnataka Common Entrance Test is being performed for the intention of influencing the
eligibility / merit, for admission of Karnataka candidates and the ward of Jammu & Kashmiri transmigrates to the First Year or First Semester of full time courses in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology courses and NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) performed by the Council of Architecture for Architecture course, in Government / University / Private Aided / Private Un-Aided professional informative institutions in the state of Karnataka for the several academic years.
