The Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar is a public engineering institute located in Jalandhar, Punjab, India.

It is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology of India.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, declared the Institute as “Institute of National Importance” under the act of Parliament-2007.

MHRD, government of India has constituted NIRF in year 2016 to rank the engineering colleges in India. It has adopted world standard parameters and methodology and publishes list of colleges every year.

NIRF rankings have become a benchmark because of their independent, honest & favorless review.

Despite intake of top 1%ile students into its UG programme, NIT Jalandhar has performed very poorly over the past few years as reflected in the rankings.
