The Global Studies Programme (GSP) is a research oriented graduate programme that focuses on twenty-first century globalization and alternative futures. It is conducted jointly by Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Chulalongkorn University (Bangkok), Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi), the University of Pretoria and FLACSO Argentina (Buenos Aires). Degree Offered Master in Global Studies Participating Institutions Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (one of the ten German “universities of excellence”) FLACSO Argentina (the top social science network in Latin America) Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi (the top Indian social science university) Chulalongkorn University (one of Southeast Asia’s best universities), University of Pretoria (a leading research‐intensive university in Africa) Curriculum Globalisation and social theories, research focus and methodologies plus extra curricula Semesters The Master programme begins in the summer semester at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (the summer semester typically begins in April, but checks the university website for the exact dates). Students spend the second and third semesters abroad, and return to Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in the final semester. Language of Instruction English (optional local language courses) Admission Requirements BA in social sciences, good mastery of English Application Deadline The application period is typically December – January Costs Tuition fees range between 250-1650 Euro per semester depending on location, flights, living costs (500 - 800 Euro per month depending on location) Scholarships The DAAD may provide limited financial assistance.
