The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct National Eligibility Test (NET) on behalf of the University Grants Commission for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor, in Indian universities and colleges. Exam Fee and Mode of Payment For General candidates, the examination fee is Rs.600/- For Other Backward Classes, the fee is Rs.300/- For SC/ST/PWD candidates, it is Rs.150/- The candidates may pay the exam fee either by credit/debit card or through e-challan generated during the online filling of the application form. In case of e-challan the payment should be made in the Syndicate/Canara/ICICI Bank In case the exam fee is paid through credit/debit card, the additional processing charges as following will also be debited from the credit/debit card of the candidate. The fee can be remitted in the following ways: Through e-Challan by deposit of prescribed fees in CBSE Account with Syndicate Bank, ICICI, HDFC and Canara Bank By Debit/Credit Card: Tentative dates Online Application Form Submission: March/April 2017 Last Date for Applying Online: March/April 2017 Last Date of Submission of Fee through Online Generated Bank Challan, at any branch of (Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank): March/April 2017 Correction in Particulars of Application Form on the Website: May 2017 Date of Examination: Second Sunday July 2017 (9th July - Tentative) Scheme and Exam Schedule The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held in second week July 2017 (Sunday) in all three separate session as under: First (Paper-I): 100 Marks (60 out of which 50 questions to be attempted) [Duration: 1¼ Hours (09.30 am to 10.45 am, IST)] Second (Paper-II): 100 Marks (50 questions all are compulsory) [Duration: 1¼ Hours (11.15 am to 12.30 pm, IST)] Third (Paper-III): 150 Marks (75 questions all are compulsory) [Duration: 2½ Hours (02.00 pm to 04.30 pm, IST)] All the questions of Paper-II and Paper-III will be compulsory, covering entire syllabus (including all electives, without options) The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Sheet provided along with the test booklet |
