The Christ University has a department of Media Studies. The Department of Media Studies at Christ University is one of the most vibrant and academically rigorous centres of media higher education in India with the passion of honing students’ skills, knowledge and attitude.

This department was incepted in 1991.

The CEP (The Communication and Media, English, Psychology) UG programme offers an eclectic mix – Introduction to Mass Communication, Critical Thinking, Print, Broadcast, Photography, Audio and Video Production, Event Management, Advertising, Public Relations, Software for Media, Strategic Storytelling, Introduction to Media Research, Reading Cinema, Media Culture and Ethics, Media Laws and Rights.

Internships, workshops, guest lectures etc. are built into the curriculum to promote diverse platforms of learning.

The three mandatory internships of the programme, outbound training, industrial visits, conferences, etc. are there to provide a conducive atmosphere for the student to optimize her/his learning.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Media Studies
BA CEP-Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Communication and Media, English and Psychology
BA JPEng-Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Journalism, Psychology, English
Master of Arts (MA) in Media and Communication Studies
Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Media Studies

The fee refund / reduction will be considered as follows.
Students in the fee range of
Upto to Rs. 10,000 - 50%
Rs. 10,000-Rs 25,000 - 25%
Above Rs. 25,000 - 10%

Eligibility requirements:
Candidates must have Post Graduate Degree in the related field of Research with not less than 55% marks.

The candidate must have completed and/or being involved as a Research Associate/ Fellow, in a major research project (sponsored by UGC or any other approved institution) of specified duration of not less than 2 years.
