Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program graduates of Azusa Pacific University will be well-prepared to translate new knowledge from research into cost-effective and culturally competent clinical practice. They will contribute to the development of health policy in the promotion of health, reducing the burden of disability, and maintaining the quality of life. Admission Requirements The DNP program prepares graduates for advanced nursing practice in direct (nurse practitioner) and indirect (health care systems leadership) roles. The program follows to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing standard that calls for DNP-level preparation for all advanced practice nursing specialties by 2015. One is expected to meet the admission criteria of the university and the School of Nursing. One needs to submit the following documents to the university: • A Graduate Application for Admission • Official transcripts of completion of BSN and MSN. • A copy of any professional certifications/registrations used by nurses with advanced practice, state or national. Transcripts may be used as evidence if needed. • A letter from advanced practice program stating the number of clinical hours completed as part of that program. Show evidence that letter has been requested.
