West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of 261 Assistant Professor vacancies for general degree colleges in different subjects on permanent basis and Headmaster vacancies on temporary basis

Total No. of Posts: 261

Name of the Posts:

1. Assistant Professor: 260 Posts

2. Head Master: 01 Post (Women unsuitable)

Eligibility Criteria-

Candidates should possess Good academic record, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade B in 7 point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master ’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from an accredited foreign University with NET/ SLET/ SSET qualification, proficiency to communicate (spoken and written) effectively in Bengali & English for Post 01

Second class Master’s Degree with Honours Degree of an Indian University or equivalent qualification for Post 02 with relevant experience

Age Limit:

Candidates age should be not more than 37 (thirty-seven) years for Post 01

Below 45 years for Post 02

Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

Last Date for Submission of Application 25-04-2017
Last Date of Payment of Fees through Online 25-04-2017
Last Date of Payment of Fees through Offline 26-04-2017

Application Fee:

Candidates should pay Rs.210/- +Service Charge 1% of Examination Fee subject to a minimum of Rs.5/- (Rupees Five) for online payment through debit/credit card plus 12.36% of service charge as Govt. Duty or Service Charge of Rs.5/- (Rupees Five) only for Net Banking or Service Charge of Rs.20/- (Rupees Twenty) only for payment through Bank Counter (off-line payment).

No fee for S.C./ S.T candidates of West Bengal/ Persons with disabilities (PWD) having physical disability of 40%.

No exemption of fee is available to SC/ ST candidates of other states & BC candidates.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be selected based on Screening Test/ Written Test.
