Odisha DET Examination is the state level admission process conducted for admitting students in the first year or second year diploma courses in the field of engineering/non-engineering/technology/film and TV courses. It is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education & Training, Odisha. Through Odisha DET, candidates’ are admitted to its 152 associated colleges.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Admission to First Semester Diploma in Engineering/Technology:
The candidates must have passed the HSC examination or 10th examination from Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
Must have secured minimum aggregate of 35% marks in 10th standard in English, Math and Science subjects.
The qualifying examination must be passed with 30% marks in each subject.
For first semester diploma courses in engineering except mining and drilling, the minimum age limit is 14 years.
For first semester drilling and mining courses, the minimum age of 16 years is required for applying.
No upper age limit will be applicable for any course.

Eligibility for Admission to First Semester Diploma Non-Engineering Courses (Hotel Management & Catering Technology (HM & CT)/Modern office Management (MOM)/Beauty Culture/Pharmacy:
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any discipline from Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha with minimum aggregate marks of 35%.
Must have passed the qualifying examination with 30% marks in each subject.
Minimum age limit of 16 years will be applicable for HM & CT/MOM and 14 years for Beauty culture.
No upper age bar is existed.
For beauty culture courses, the candidates must have completed 10+2/10th standard with 35% aggregate marks in English, Math and Science subjects.


For admission to first year diploma courses in pharmacy, 10+2 educational qualification with 35% marks in PCM/PCB subjects is required.
Eligibility for Admission to Third Semester (Lateral Entry) Diploma in Engineering/Technology:
Minimum educational qualification prescribed for this course is 10+2 or its equivalent examination with PCM subjects from Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha.
The candidates who have passed 10th with at least 35% marks from BSE, Odisha are also eligible to apply.
Minimum age limit is 14 years, required for this course.
No upper age limit prescribed for this course.

Eligibility for First Semester Diploma in Film & TV Courses (Cinematography/Sound & TV Engineering/ Film and Video Editing ):
Candidates looking for admission in the first year diploma courses in cinematography and sound & TV engineering are required to pass higher secondary examination in science stream from state board/CBSE/ICSE with 35% aggregate marks.
For Film and Video editing course, minimum educational qualification of 10+2 in any discipline from state board/ICSE/CBSE and should have 35% aggregate marks at the qualifying examination.
The candidates age must be in between 16 to 28 years as on 1/6/2017.
The relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit of SC/ST is provided.
