The UPSC Combined Medical Services CMS Exam is a computer based combined medical examination conducted by the UPSC for recruitment to the services and posts of Assistant Medical Officer in railways, Indian Ordinance Factories Health Service, Junior scale posts in central health services, etc. UPSC CMS Exam eligibility- Candidates should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. examination. Age limit: You must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 1 August of year of exam. Age relaxation for reserved category is applicable as per the norms. UPSC CMS Exam 2018 Important Dates Notification Date: 11 April, 2018 Last Date to Apply: 7 May, 2018 Date of Exam: 22 July, 2018 Exam Pattern Part-I: Computer Based Examination (500 Marks) Part I is of 500 marks. The exam for two objective papers is conducted in Computer based mode. Each paper carries a maximum of 250 marks. Each paper is of 2 hours duration. Paper Section Questions Paper I General Medicine 96 Paediatrics 24 Paper II Surgery 40 Gynaecology & Obstetrics 40 Preventive & Social Medicine 40 Both the Papers are of MBBS standard. The Computer based examination in both the papers is completely objective (Multiple choice answers) type The question Papers are set in English only. There is penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers in the objective type question papers. Part-II: Personality Test (100 Marks) Candidates who qualify in the Computer based examination are called for Interview or Personality Test. The Interview or Personality Test carries 100 marks. |
