NICMAR, Centre of Distance Education (CODE) was set up in July 1988 at Mumbai and relocated to Pune in 1992.

In 1985-86, it organized roving workshops on Construction Project Management at BAI Centers at Baroda, Bangalore, Bombay, Trichi, Delhi and Calcutta
