1. Study of circuit components and equipments (Component identification, Characteristics of Passive Circuit
elements, Color coding, checking diode, BJT, FET, study of CRO, Function Generator, Multimeter, LCR meter).
2. Characteristics of Semiconductor diode and Zener diode
3. Input and Output Characteristics of BJT under CE configuration
4. Input and Output Characteristics of BJT under CB configuration
5. Drain and transfer Characteristics of JFET
6. Characteristics of UJT
7. Characteristics of SCR
8. Characteristics of DIAC TRIAC and Phototransistor
9. Characteristics of MOSFET
10. Characteristics of Tunnel diode
11. Characteristics of Thermistor
12. Characteristics of LDR or LED/Photo detector
13. Switching Characteristic of BJT
14. Clippers and Clampers
15. Voltage Multipliers

COURSE OUTCOMES

On completion of the course, student will be able to
CO1 - Familiarise about the different types of active and passive electronic components and to know about their
structure, lead code, package details, colour coding etc.
CO2 - Acquaint the details about the various equipment and measuring instruments.
CO3 - Acquire knowledge about the testing of various electronic components using multimeter.
CO4 - Obtain and plot the V I characteristics of different electronic components.
CO5 - Study about the photo electric characteristics and power control ability of some special electronic devices.
CO6 - Understand the applications of active and passive components by constructing and testing of basic electronic
circuits using them.
