Introduction: signal generator, different types of signal generator, block diagram of audio signal generator. Unit: II A.C. Circuit of Resistance of Inductance, Energy stored in Capacitance. Series and parallel RL, RC and RLC circuits, Power triangular series and parallel circuits, Admittance, Different cases of AC circuit, Resonance in A.C. Circuits: Q factor, skin effect, Series Resonance in an R-L-C circuit, Resonance curve, half power, bandwidth of a tuned circuit, sharpness of resonance, tuning, tuning ratio, parallel resonance, Examples Unit: III Power supply : Block diagram, functional operation of power supply, voltage divider, Transformer-Types and its action, Rectifier section, Filters (C, L, LC & p), Regulators and its function. Classification of opto electronic devices, Light units, Photomultiplier tube, bulk type Photoconductive cell, Light emitting diode, Photodiode, Solar cell, Photo transistors. Unit: IV Definition and Classification of transducers, Selecting transducer, Strain gages – Gage factor, Metallic Sensing Element, Gage Configuration, Displacement transducer – Capacitive transducer, Inductive transducer, Variable differential transformer transducer, Oscillation transducer, Potentiometric transducer, Piezo electric transducer, Velocity transducer.
