Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya was established on March 4, 1902 by Swami Shraddhanandaji with the sole mean to restore the antiquated Indian Gurukula System of training, on the bank of Ganges at a separation of around 6 km. from Hardwar and around 200 km. from Delhi.

Arya Samaj has been supporting ladies' instruction since the day it was established. As a major aspect of its arrangements for the up-liftment of ladies in the nation, Kanya Gurukula Campus, Dehradun was built up in 1922 by Acharya Ramdevji as a moment grounds of ladies' instruction. To give genuine shape to the fantasies of Swami Shraddhanandaji, Kanya Gurukula Campus, Hardwar was built up in 1993.
