Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University is an public collegiate university in Lucknow in the Indian condition of Uttar Pradesh. It was built up as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University by the Government of Uttar Pradesh on 8 May 2000. To diminish workload and to guarantee appropriate administration, the college was bifurcated into independent colleges, Gautam Buddha Technical University and Mahamaya Technical University, with impact from 1 May 2010. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow in the past Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) was set up by the administration of Uttar Pradesh on 8 May 2000 (Act No. 1248 (2)XVII-V-I-I-19-2000 Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam Sankhya 23 of 2000). Under the University Act, 'Specialized Education' incorporates projects of instruction, research and preparing in designing, innovation, engineering, town arranging, drug store, connected expressions and makes and such different projects and ranges that the focal government may pronounce by warning in the Gazette in meeting with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The University was bifurcated into the Mahamaya Technical University and Gautam Buddha Technical University starting at 1 May 2010 for better administration of instruction in the state. On 05/01/2013 the Uttar Pradesh government has chosen to combine GBTU and MTU to bring back the first type of UPTU. On 31/10/2013, GBTU and MTU at last converged up back to UPTU, the college with the most extreme number of Colleges associated to it, in India.
