IES- Indian Engineering Service Exam is a paper-pen based, four-part government service examination directed by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of engineers in the Engineering Services of the Government of India. Yes you may give the IES Exam But the IES Exam has the Following Category i. Civil Engineering ii. Mechanical Engineering iii. Electrical Engineering iv. Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering It may not have the IT Category The Eligibility Criteria for the IES Excam is given below Eligibility Criteria Nationality:- The aspirant must be any one of the following: A citizen of India A citizen of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Age:- Aspirants aged between 21 and 30 years. Educational Qualification:- - B.E./B.Tech or passed sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India) or - Obtained a degree/diploma in engineering from such foreign university/college/institution recognized by the Government of India from time to time. -Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or -Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or -Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959.
