Karnataka Examination Authority is conducts Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) to offer admissions to interested candidates in various undergraduate as well as professional courses, offered by different colleges in the state of Karnataka.

The KEA will conduct KCET in offline mode on April 18-19, 2018.

KCET will be conducted separately for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology on two alternate days in 80 minutes time duration.

The state level engineering entrance exam will be conducted for admission to various B.Tech programmes offered by government and private institutions of Karnataka.

Firstly candidates need to understand KCET Syllabus completely.

The syllabus of the questions mentioned in the question papers of KCET exam will mostly be based on the first and second PUC syllabi prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State.

KCET syllabus:

Physics

Physical world, Units and measurements, Motion in a straight line, motion in a plane, Laws of motion, Work, energy and power, Systems of particles and rotational motion, Gravitation, Mechanical properties of solids, Mechanical properties of fluids, Thermal properties of matter, Thermodynamics, kinetic theory, Oscillations, Waves, Electric charges and fields, Electrostatic potential and capacitance, Current electricity, Moving charges and magnetism, Magnetism and matter, Electromagnetic induction, Alternating current, Electromagnetic waves, Ray optics and optical instruments, Wave optics, Dual nature of radiation and matter, Atoms, nuclei, Semiconductor electronics, Communications systems.

Chemistry
Some basic concepts of chemistry, Structure of Atom, Classification of elements and periodicity in properties, Chemical bonding and molecular structure, States of matters- Gases and liquids, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Redox reactions, Hydrogen, s- Block elements, Some p- Block elements, Organic chemistry- Some basic principles and techniques, Hydrocarbons, Environmental chemistry, Solid state, Solution, Electrochemistry, Chemical kinetics, Surface chemistry, General principles and processes of isolation of elements 5 hrs, p- Block elements, d and f block elements, Coordination compounds, Haloalkanes and haloarenes, Alcohols, phenols and ethers, Aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids, Organic compounds containing nitrogen, Biomolecules, Polymers, Chemistry in everyday life.

Mathematics
Relations and functions, Algebra, Calculus, Vectors and three dimensional Geometry.
