I want to get admission in MCA in National Institute of Technology – Calicut so can you please provide me the details of admission?

National Institute of Technology NIT Calicut offers Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme of duration 3 years with 6 semesters.

Admission to MCA course is based on the NIMCET MCA Entrance Exam (NIMCET) Exam.

NIT Calicut MCA Eligibility Criteria-

B.Sc/B.Sc (Hons)/ BCA /BIT of minimum three years full-time; or B.E/B.Tech or equivalents from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in aggregate (55% marks in case of SC, ST)

Candidates are required to clear NIMCET Exam.

Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET

NIMCET 2017 Exam Pattern

NIMCET test will be conducted with only one question paper containing 120 multiple-choice questions covering the following subjects. Multiple Choice Questions will be written in English

Language only and will not be translated into any other language

1. Mathematics 50 questions
2. Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning 40 questions
3. Computer Awareness 10 questions
4. General English 20 questions

The duration of NIMCET-2017 exam is 2 hours

Question Paper will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions

Each correctly answered question will carry four marks

Each wrongly answered question will lead to Negative one mark

Opening Date for Online Registration & Filling of Online Application form: 20th February 2017

Last Date for Receipt of Printout of electronically filled application form along with self-attested copy of Marks sheet of Class-12 and Graduation certificate with payment receipt by speed post/ Registered post: 31st March 2017 [03.00 PM]

Availability of Admit card on NIT, Durgapur Website: 16th May 2017 onwards

Date of Exam: 28th May 2017 (Sunday, 10 AM to 12 Noon)

Date of Publication of Result (Tentative) On or before 06th June 2017

Opening Date of On-Line Choice filling 09th June 2017 (10 A.M onwards)

Closing Date of Online Choice filling 14th June 2017

First Round Seat Allotment: 17th June 2017

First round of Remote reporting in person in any of the counseling centre i.e. participating NITs offering MCA Programme 23rd June to 24th June 2017

Second round of Allotment/up gradation 30th June 2017

Second Round of Remote Reporting in person (fresh allotees and allotees whose seats are upgraded, but need to modify after their option): 06th and 07th July 2017

Third Round of Allotment/Upgradation 11th July 2017

Third Round of Reporting in person at the allotted institute 17th to 18th July 2017

Surrendering the allotted seats in person through participating counselling: Monday 18th to Tuesday 19th July 2017

Announcement of vacant seats 22nd July 2017

Fresh Choice Filling in person against vacant seat, if any, through any of the counseling centre Sunday 23rd July to Monday 24th July 2017

Final round of allotment of vacant seat, if any 26th July 2017

Final Round of Reporting in person at the allotted institute on or before 31st July 2017
