I want to do Knitwear Design programme in National Institute of Fashion Technology NIFT so can you provide me the details of the program?

The National Institute of Fashion Technology NIFT offers four-year Knitwear Design programme.

Four-Year Knitwear Design programme

The four-year Knitwear Design programme is developed towards creating design professionals who can cater to Knitted Apparel- an exclusive segment in fashion, particularly in sportswear and lingerie.

The programme has been designed to create well-rounded professionals equipped to handle the challenges of circular and flat-bed knitting in the domestic and export fields.

Duration – 4 years

Eligibility-

A candidate who has passed any of the following examination are eligible to apply:
Passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board

A passing grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects

3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education
and
Maximum age limit for SC/ST or reserved candidates is 28 years

Entrance Test-

Eligible candidates need to appear for the written test i.e Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT) conducted by the college.

Situation Test

Shortlisted candidates will be called for Situation Test based on the score obtained in CAT and GAT.

Counselling-

Admission is through counseling based on the rank obtained in CAT/ GAT or Situation test score and performance in Group Discussion/ Personal Interview.

Selection parameters and weightages:

CAT: 50%
GAT: 30%
Situation Test: 20%
