Re: indian forest service work profile
Indian Forest Service (IFS) is one of the three All India Services of the Government of India. It was constituted in the year 1966 under the All India Services Act, 1951 by the Government of India. The main mandate of IFS service is the implementation of the National Forest Policy which aims to ensure environmental stability and maintenance of ecological balance. An IFS officer is largely independent of district administration and exercises administrative, judicial and financial powers in their own domain. All top positions in state forest department are held by IFS officers. On acceptance to the IFS, new entrants undergo a probationary period (and are referred to as Officer Trainees).
