The UDC Examination conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) shall comprise of two papers, which includes paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type with aggregate of 200 marks and coming to Paper-II, it is in descriptive form with a total of 100 marks. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each of the wrong answer. The prescribed pattern for UDC Exam is scheduled below, Paper Subject Max Marks Time Paper-I (Objective Type) General Awareness 100 2: 40 hrs English language 100 Paper-II (Conventional Type) Noting, Drafting and Office Procedure 100 2: 40 hrs Total 300 marks 5: 20 hrs Persons who have appeared for part-I are allowed to answer for paper-II. They have the option to answer the questions either in English or Hindi. Paper-I UDC Exam Syllabus 1. It will be designed to test the candidate’s knowledge of office procedure in the Secretariat and Attached Offices and, in general, their ability to write and understand notes and drafts. Candidates are required to refer the below topics while preparing for the examination. • Manual of Office Procedure/ Manual of Office Procedure issued by Ministry of Railways. • The Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. • Hand Book of orders issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding use of Hindi for official purpose of the Union and Reservation Policy for SC/STs in services. • Orders issued by Government thereon from time to time. |
